All member deposits are federally insured, in the aggregate, up to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) a U. S. government agency, through a government-backed federal insurance fund known as the National Credit Union Shared Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), and are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government. Joint member accounts are insured separately from individual accounts up to a maximum of $250,000. IRAs receive separate $250,000 insurance coverage. For more information visit NCUA.gov.

First time check orders must be done through a City of Boston Credit Union branch. If you are reordering checks with no changes, you can reorder them online.

The IRS does not require a financial institution to issue a 1099 for accounts that earn less than $10 in a given year. If your account did earn more than $10 and you have not received a 1099, please call 617-635-4545 during business hours.

To protect you and ensure the validity of your card transactions, your transactions are monitored for unusual spending patterns. If you plan on traveling out of the country, or intend to make large purchases, please call us in advance so that we can flag your account. Otherwise, card usage may be blocked if it appears your card or account number has been stolen.

For MasterCard® Debit Cards: During regular business hours please call 617-635-3899 or during non-business hours call 800-992-3808. If you are a registered City of Boston Credit Union Home Banking user you may also notify us of your travel plans by logging into your home banking account, go to Banking Services under My Profile, then select Travel Notification & Other Forms and click on the Travel Notification form. You will then be asked to securely submit information about your card and travel plans. Please note Travel Notification requests are not fulfilled immediately, if you submit your request on a weekend day or holiday your request will be fulfilled the next CBCU business day.

For Visa® Credit Cards: During regular business hours please call 617-635-4545 before traveling.  Home Banking users may also notify us of their travel plans via their home banking account, which can be found in the Service Center after logging into your City of Boston Credit Union Online Banking account.
